Anya Taylor Joy was born in Miami Florida on 16 April 1996. Half English and a quarter Spanish She is the child of Dennis Alan Taylor a former banker, and Jennifer Marina Joy a psychologist. His father was an Argentine from Scottish and English origin. The mother of Taylor-Joy has Spanish and English ancestry. There are five siblings, four from her father's prior marriage. Her family lived within Buenos Aires from the time she was 6 years old until they moved to Victoria, London. Taylor-Joy said the move into London was difficult and that she was unable to learn English so that she could avoid returning to Argentina. Hill House was the new school she was required to attend following her departure from Northlands. After that, she was enrolled at Queen's Gate School where she was a ballet student and performed in school productions. After she turned 16, she decided to leave school in order to follow a full-time career path in acting. Taylor-Joy was a young actress who was certain she would be an actor. The realization of her dreams came when Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Management offered her a modelling job.
